Have you ever mixed up the cookie dough, scooped it out, put it in the oven and when it came out of the oven you had two different cookies??? Well, Manly Man and I did just that...We made two totally different cookies with our boys. They are like night and day. They both have their own unique personality and style and we are soooo proud of them. Our oldest is into Fine Arts...he is in the marching band and jazz band, plays saxophone and loves it. We live in a small Texas town and they go to a 3A school. The band is small but a great organization to be involved in.
.

That would be him...front and center on the 45 yard line, tall and with his back perfectly arched at attention. Gotta love that!!!
Now, we have the younger one, quiet (at school, at least) very introspective, likes to work on things and can take a fourwheeler apart and put it back together all in one afternoon. Stripped right off his daddy's back. You could not get a father and son so much more alike than these two. I have to remind Manly Man of this quite often when he gets frustrated with him. I just say, "Oooooo, he is just like you" and all Manly Man can do is smile. Here he is in all his glory....

I choose to not go riding with them for this reason right here. This is a must...the "wheelies"...in the water, in the sand and the hills....where ever they can do them. Makes me a little nervous so I just get to see it in pictures.
I would not trade these two for anything in the world. The best part is they LOVE their momma...I make sure there is a hug at least once a day and remind them that they will never be too old to hug their momma!!!!
Now for a little decorating....I put up my Uppercase Living decals on the wall about a month ago. I really like the ones I ordered.

This one is right inside my back door. We do not have a "mudroom" we have a "mudspace". When you walk inside my back door there are the hooks for hats, a bench that catches a plethora of items and a cubby underneath the bench for shoes. I thought this was the perfect saying for this space.

This one, of course, is in my laundry room. The mirror...well, northern cottage chick went to a yard sale....she was about to leave and the lady asked...."Would you be interested in some antique mirrors?" The lady, knowing she had an antique store thought to ask at the last minute. Northern cottage chick said "sure", not really knowing what she was getting. She sent her husband to pick up the loot the next day. He arrived at the Cottage and asked, "Did you buy some mirrors?". She said yes and he opened the back door to his truck...We almost fell over. It was a TON of these little side mirrors from antique dressers. They had pretty much
all lost their mates...They sat in a pile in our shed until one day we started adding chains and hanging them in the cottage...I think we have 1 left. It was one of her greatest purchases, sight unseen!!!

This one is in my sewing room. It is the smallest of sewing rooms, but I am so happy to have this space. It has a pocket door and I can blow through there like a hurricane, leave it a mess and shut the door....which happens quite often. This one says, "I am a Material Girl want to see my fabric?" It was the perfect colors for my little pictures I found at Hobby Lobby a couple of years ago. I do not sew clothing (only for myself) but I just loved these little canvas prints...aren't they cute????
We have done a couple of projects at the cottage with Uppercase Living words. We should have those out for the Antiques on the Lawn show coming up November 14 and 15.
Not much Halloween decorating at my house...I get into Fall decorating a little more...if I have time. I think I am going to follow Girly Stuff and get my Christmas Tree down at Halloween. We'll see!!!
